Home view for cloud users
User dashboard
The Home view or Dashboard is usually the first screen you will see when you log in to Abiquo. By default, it has Metrics, Hybrid, and Optimization tabs.
To sort tables by columns, click on the columns in the header rows
To jump directly to a VM, virtual datacenter or virtual appliance, double-click on its Name or label.
Display dashboard metrics
On the Home view dashboard, the Metrics tab provides a general view of the resources currently being used by your virtual datacenters, as well as events.
The Enterprise resources - virtual datacenters panel shows statistics of the resources used by your virtual datacenters.
Select the virtual datacenter name from the pull-down list
Key to the graph:
Blue: Used resources
Orange: Soft limit
Red: Hard limit
Enterprise resources table for virtual datacenters
Statistics | Description |
---|---|
Virtual CPUs | Number of virtual CPUs used by VMs that are currently deployed |
Storage | VM disks (GB) that are created on the hypervisor datastore, including VM system disks and hard disks |
Memory | RAM (GB) used by VMs that are currently deployed |
Ext. Storage | Storage in volumes (GB) managed in public cloud cloud providers, created in VDCs. |
Networks | Number of private networks defined in Abiquo VDCs. A default private network is always created when you create a virtual datacenter. |

Dashboard metrics tables
The Metrics tables give you an overview of your virtual resources in the cloud platform.
Virtual datacenters and Virtual appliances describe all these entities of your enterprise in the platform, with totals in the table header
The Last deployed VMs widget displays the last VMs your tenant deployed on the platform. You can filter by user, including deleted users
The Last triggered alerts widget displays the last monitoring alerts for your tenant’s alarms.
The Events widget displays all events that you can access. To display full details of an event, click on the event row.
Hybrid
The Hybrid tab provides an overview of the distribution and cost of your resources between public cloud providers and private cloud.
The Workload of VMs by location is a graph of the number of VMs your tenant has deployed in public cloud providers and private cloud. To view more details, click on the graph
The Virtual machines count lists your tenant’s VMs. You can filter the list by a public cloud provider or private cloud and click through to the VMs.
The Hybrid billing dashboard contains billing details for all providers, with a selector for public cloud providers and private cloud.
The Last bills widget displays a graph of the latest bills with the amount of the last bill and the change in spend from the previous bill for the selected provider.
It also contains a graph of the most recent bills registered in the system. Move the mouse over the graph line to display the bill details.
The widget also displays the billing details for each cloud provider with a breakdown by service.
The Estimated bill widget is for the current period. The platform calculates a linear regression of daily costs for the current period, and the change in spend from the last bill for the selected provider
Optimization
The Optimization tab aims to help you make best use of your cloud resources.
For more details of a VM, click on the arrow symbol beside the VM details
The Optimization widgets can help you to save on your cloud spend or improve the performance of your cloud systems. These widgets include the following:
Panel | Description |
---|---|
CPU usage > 80% | The VMs with highest average CPU usage over the last 30 days |
RAM usage > 80% | The VMs with highest average RAM usage over the last 30 days |
Longest time deployed | The VMs with the highest time deployed on the platform in days and hours, and not requiring the VMs to currently be in any specific state. You can filter by user name and deleted users |
CPU usage < 30% | The VMs with lowest average CPU usage over the last 30 days |
RAM usage < 30% | The VMs with lowest average RAM usage over the last 30 days |
Unused public IPs | The public, floating, or NAT IPs that have been reserved by the tenant but are not in use on a deployed VM |
Unused load balancers | The load balancers that have been created by the tenant in the provider but are not in use for deployed VMs |
