Billing for backups per GB

This page describes pricing and billing of backups per GB in a datacenter, which was introduced in Abiquo 6.1.

In Abiquo 6.1, you can activate the Backup GB usage in the platform in Configuration view on the Billing tab, as for other usage types.

The platform obtains storage used by the backup from the backup results. In this initial version, Abiquo supports Backup GB for Veeam.

To bill users for their backups, edit your pricing models and in the Resource prices section, for your datacenter, on the Prices tab, set a price for Backup per GB.

To generate the backup billing data, the platform obtains the total storage for a backup (from the backup results), divides by time that the backup is valid (not expired), and then applies the price of Backup GB.

If you power off a VM, it will consume less space in the backup system, so the charges will be smaller.
