New OCI regions and identity domains

Abiquo 6.1 adds support for new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions and you can use an identity domain account per enterprise model but this is not currently supported by Abiquo billing.

New OCI regions

Abiquo 6.1 adds support for the following new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions:

Johannesburg, South Africa
Singapore,Singapore
Jerusalem, Israel
Madrid, Spain
Marseille, France
Milan, Italy
Paris, France
Stockholm, Sweden
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Queretaro, Mexico

To use these regions, we have updated the OCI SDK version to 2.49.1.

Identity domains per enterprise

Although Abiquo recommends one OCI account for each enterprise, it is possible to create identity domains and assign one API credential with access to a domain to each enterprise.

If you use the domain-enterprise model, it is important to create the correct policy to only allow access to the resources in each domain to one enterprise. We recommend that for each domain you also create a compartment for its resources. It can be helpful to name the policy after its domain.

The general format for a policy to grant access to the compartment for a domain is:

Allow group Name_of_Domain/Domain_Administrators to manage all-resources in compartment domain_compartment_name

You can also allow access to a tenancy with a similar policy but using a compartment will give you more flexibilty to manage resources and access.

The current version of Abiquo billing works with each OCI account and it does not divide the billing by domains.
