VM extra charges

This page describes how you can use extra charges (previously cost codes) for products such as licenses, professional services, managed services, and installations.

One-time extra charges let you provide a one-off item or service to your users, and charge them for it in their next bill. You can even let users obtain the item or service by self service. You can supply these products more than once per VM, by adding an extra charge to the same VM more than once. You can also provide items or services as enterprise products, by adding extra charges to enterprises.

To assign extra charges with cost codes to a VM:

Privileges: View virtual machine extra charges, Manage virtual machine extra charges, Remove extra charges from an entity

Edit the VM
Go to Extra charges
Click the + add button
Select an Extra charge with a cost code
1. For an extra charge a cost code with Usage user licenses unit, enter the number of Users for the VM
After you finish editing the VM, click Save

Add extra charges to a VM

You cannot change extra charges (cost codes) that are inherited from the hardware profile or template
When you add a one-time extra charge and save the VM, the charge is made immediately. You can remove the extra charge from the VM, but the charge will still appear in the enterprise’s bill
