Prepare public cloud templates

  1. The VM template will have a default user, and you should add a password for this user.

    1. Go to Apps library → Public → select region → Templates
  2. Select and edit the template
  3. Go to Advanced
  4. Select the template operating system, for example, LINUX_64
  5. For Azure enter a Username and for Windows on Azure enter a Password
    1. For Linux, note the username that the platform has obtained from the Azure template
    2. For Windows, enter a valid username and password. See Azure Portal and documentation about usernames at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/faq#what-are-the-username-requirements-when-creating-a-vm. The RDP password must be more than 12 characters long. It should contain at least one each of uppercase character, lowercase character, number, and special character.     If you do not add a user and password to the template, the platform will use the default set in Abiquo Configuration Properties.

  6. For AWS enter a Username
    1. For Linux, see Amazon default instance users table. If necessary, enter the Username
    2. For Windows, enter "Administrator"

  7. Click Save
