Introduction to protection managers for DRaaS
In private cloud datacenters, Abiquo offers disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) with a plugin that supports the popular Zerto disaster recovery system. This is a separate plugin with its own license.
In Abiquo you will create protection managers to register your Zerto configuration.
Display protection managers
To display protection managers:
Privileges: Access infrastructure view and private DCs, View datacenter details, View and manage protection managers
Go to Infrastructure → Protection managers
Create a protection manager
To create a protection manager for disaster recovery:
Go to Infrastructure → Protection managers
Click the + add button and enter the protection manager details

Name | Name to identify protection manager |
Type | Select the disaster recovery protection manager type |
Endpoint | This is the URL for connecting to the protection manager API. Tip: When adding a Zerto protection manager, don't forget to add the slash "/v1/" at the end of the URL. Zerto example: https://zerto.host.domain:9669/v1/ |
User | User for the disaster recovery system. |
Password | Password for the disaster recovery system. |
Recovery protection manager | Select another Zerto Protection Manager that is paired with this protection manager for recovery. |
