In Abiquo 6.1.1, you can more easily display, filter, and search your scope hierarchies in the UI.

By default, the display and filter of the scope hierarchy is By level but you can now also select Global to display all scopes without the hierarchy. Users with limited scopes will only see their scope and the scopes beneath it in its hierarchy.

In Abiquo you can use scopes as access control lists for resellers, and tenants, and for sharing resources.

To display scope hierarchies, go to UsersScopes.

The following screenshot shows the default scopes view for the cloud administrator user.

Scopes tab by level with scope hierarchy

To move up the hierarchy, click a higher level scope, or click the link to go Back to previous level.

To filter the entries at the current level, enter filter text in the search box. For example, in our system with two enterprises called SubEnt1 and SubEnt2, if you enter sub.

To display all scopes, without the hierarchy level tree:

  1. Click the funnel filter button to open the filter options

  2. Select Global and click Accept

The display will now list scopes and their parent scopes.

And if you enter text in the filter box, the platform will display the results in the global format.

To search for all scopes that contain a specific enterprise, open the scope filter and select the Enterprise.

Users with limited scopes

If a user has a limited scope, then the scope tree will start by displaying the user scope, and then display scopes below that scope.

The following screenshot displays the example above for a reseller administrator with the ResellerScope with access to the aReseller enterprise only.

This user will not be able to display the Global Scope and other scopes with no parent, or scopes below other scopes.
