Abiquo has custom integrations with some public cloud providers, such as AWS EC2 and VPC, Azure ARM, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and vCloud Director clouds. These integrations map Abiquo entities to public cloud entities as shown in the following diagram.

Abiquo public cloud integrations entities summary

Abiquo support for VCD is available in on-premise or public mode.

Public cloud billing

The default Hybrid tab of the Home dashboard view can display public cloud billing information, including latest bills and estimated bills. For details of the dashboard widgets, see Hybrid and for configuration details, see Display cloud provider billing data

Public cloud compute

Administrators add each public cloud region to the platform as an Abiquo public cloud region. Abiquo manages it using a set of the Abiquo Remote Services. It can share these remote services with other datacenters or public cloud regions.

Abiquo caches the details of public cloud templates without storing their disks, so no NFS repository is required for a public cloud region. Each Abiquo public cloud region corresponds to a single region in the public cloud. Multiple cloud tenants can then access this region.

Abiquo synchronizes with all public cloud providers to onboard virtual resources, either at the virtual datacenter or regional level. An examples of a provider with virtual datacenter synchronization is AWS, and one with regional synchronization is Google Cloud Platform.

Public cloud features support

Feature support for all Abiquo public cloud providers is described in the Public cloud providers section.  Full details of the major public cloud integrations can be found on the pages in the https://abiquo.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=311371033 section.
