Introduction

This document describes the basic installations of Abiquo and the subsections describe the components of each configuration.

The main installations of the Abiquo platform are Monolithic and Distributed.

A monolithic installation is a single-server configuration used for testing.

Abiquo monolithic server contains all components

A distributed installation requires more than one server and is suitable for production environments.

Abiquo distributed installation consists of multiple servers

Abiquo platform networking

The main networks of the Abiquo platform are shown in the following diagram of a distributed installation.

Abiquo network configuration

The Management Network is used by the Abiquo platform components to manage the virtual resources.

The Service Network is used for virtual machine networking and it includes:

  • Private Networks

  • External Networks

  • Unmanaged Networks

The Public Network is used to connect virtual machines to the Internet.

The Storage Network was commonly used for the persistent storage feature (now deprecated).

These networks are also shown in the following diagrams.
