You will need vCloud Director credentials to create public cloud regions and also for tenant access to the regions.
Credentials format
The username of the Provider administrator will usually be in the format: administrator@vsphere.local
The username of the Organization administrator will usually be in the format:
Create public cloud regions for vCloud Director
As each vCloud Director will have different vDCs, the platform requires credentials to retrieve the vDCs in vCloud Director in order to create public cloud regions in the platform.
The platform can work with a Provider vDC or an Organization vDC as a public cloud region.
- If you use an Organization vDC, then the entire public cloud region will belong to a single tenant.
- If you use a Provider vDC, then for each tenant, you can add one Organization VDC per public cloud region.

When you create the public cloud region in the platform, enter the appropriate credentials.
Use vCloud Director public cloud regions
To use a public cloud region in vCloud, you must add Organization credentials for the tenant.
You should also add Provider credentials to link the Organization vDC to the public cloud region when it is a Provider vDC.
