This page describes some of the user actions with the Azure MySQL service.

Create an Azure MySQL database instance

Privileges: Use location services, Run actions on usable services, or Manage virtual datacenters

Optionally, before you create the server, from the service Options menu, select Check name availability
From the service Options menu, select Create single server
Create an Azure MySQL single server database
Enter the properties for the creation of your database

Create a firewall rule for an Azure MySQL database instance

To allow a connection to your database with a firewall rule:

Privileges: Use location services, Run actions on usable services, or Manage virtual datacenters

From the service Options menu, select Create firewall rule and enter your IP address.
Obviously, we are not using a real IP address in the screenshot below.

After you create or onboard your Azure MySQL instance, you can monitor it using Abiquo Service Metrics for XaaS. This requires a monitoring server for your platform.

List servers for Azure MySQL

Abiquo can connect to your Azure account in a region and list the single server databases that are already running there.

Privileges: Use location services and Run actions on usable services, or Manage virtual datacenters

To list Azure MySQL instances in your account, and then optionally, onboard them into Abiquo.

Go to myCloud → Locations
Select your Azure location and go to Service configurations
Select the "AzureMySQLService".
On the right hand side of the screen, from the options menu, select "List servers" or “List servers by resource group”. If required, enter the Resource group name
Select an instance to onboard
If you have one instance only, Abiquo will select it automatically
Click Accept to add it to Abiquo

Abiquo will register the instance and users will be able to manage it using the actions on the Service options menu.

Display the status of an Azure MySQL instance

To display the status of an Azure MySQL service:

From the options menu, select States OR
Click the round status indicator beside the Name of the service instance
The platform will display the States of the service.
To refresh the display, click Update now

You can also change the update frequency.

List and update the configuration of a Azure MySQL instance

To list and update the configuration an Azure MySQL service:

From the instance options menu, select List configurations and confirm the action
To display the configuration values, click See more
To update a configuration, from the options menu, select Update configuration
Enter the configuration and the new value
