Datastore tier limits
Abiquo 5.3 introduces a new limit for datastore tiers to enable you to better control the use of storage with different service levels in your private cloud datacenters.
This new limit is for tenants within allowed datacenters, which means that for each tenant, you can create a datastore tier limit for each tier within a datacenter.
The datastore tier limits apply to new deploys, reconfiguring VMs, and VMs that are captured from hypervisors to onboard them into the platform.
In order for the administrator to set a limit, the tenant must be able to access to the datastore tiers.
To edit datastore tier limits, go to Users → Edit enterprise → Datacenters → edit an Allowed datacenter. You can set limits on the Allocation limits tab, for tiers on that are allowed on the Datastore tiers tab, .
When a user tries to exceed a hard limit for their enterprise in a datacenter, a general message is shown that does not display the details of the limits. (Note that limit details can still display for VDC limits).
Abiquo has also improved the messages for limit errors, and these now show the limits that the user tried to exceed only, instead of all the limits, which makes them easier to read. The limit details are available to users with the appropriate privileges only.
Abiquo has also redefined the limit data entities in the Abiquo API, so that the allowed datastore tier links are now with the limits for the tiers, in a separate dstierLimits media type.
