Create a base reseller hierarchy
If you are a public cloud reseller, to use public cloud reseller accounts for your tenants and to take advantage of public cloud features, you will need to create at least a base reseller hierarchy.
A base reseller hierarchy consists of a reseller and a set of customers. The hierarchy is defined using the enterprise settings and scopes.
To create a base reseller model, do these steps:
- Create a Reseller scope
- For the parent scope, select the Global scope or another scope
- Add all the public cloud providers
- Create a reseller enterprise and add reseller configuration
- The reseller enterprise should not use public cloud resources for best results with billing and usage features
- For the default scope, select the Reseller scope
- There can be only one reseller enterprise per scope, and that's one reason why we don't recommend using the Global scope
- Select the Reseller checkbox
- Enter the Reseller mail account details. See Configure reseller mail accounts
- On the Datacenters tab
- Add the public cloud providers or regions
- Edit the reseller scope and add the reseller enterprise
- Create a Customer scope for each customer enterprise
- For the parent scope of the Customer scope, select the Reseller scope
- Add the customer enterprise to the customer scope
- Edit the customer enterprise
- On the General tab
- For the customer enterprise default scope, select the Customer scope
- Select the Key node checkbox
- On the Datacenters tab
- Add the public cloud providers or regions
- Edit the public cloud providers or regions
- Create Allocation limits as required
- Set Default roles to create managed services as required
- On the General tab
