The Home view dashboard gives you statistics and an overview of the resources you are managing on the platform.

It is the first screen you will see when you log in. To jump to a virtual datacenter or virtual machine double click on it in the Virtual datacenters or Virtual machines table.

Introduction

To return to this view from any other screen, click the Home icon

The home view dashboard is a general view of the resources currently being used by your enterprise in four different panels, described from left to right, top down:

  • Enterprise Resources
  • Running Virtual Appliances
  • Virtual Datacenters
  • Events

All information shown is contextualized for the current user, so you'll only see data related to the enterprises or resources you have access to. Users that can view more than one enterprise can select an enterprise to see its data.

Selecting an enterprise

If you have the List all enterprises within scope privilege, you can view the dashboard statistics for any enterprise in your administration scope. Click on the enterprise in the Enterprise list. The name of the selected enterprise will display above the dashboard panels.

Administer the selected enterprise

The default Cloud Administrator (username:admin) belongs to the Abiquo enterprise. This enterprise is used to administer users, enterprises, roles and privileges in Abiquo.

If you have the Allow user to switch enterprise privilege, click the switch enterprise button beside a name in the enterprise list to administer that enterprise.

The name of the enterprise that you are currently using will be displayed beneath your username in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

You will now be working as the administrator of this enterprise and all your actions with virtual datacenters and virtual appliances will apply to this enterprise. You will work with this enterprise until you choose to switch to another, which may include your own enterprise. When you log out and log in again, the enterprise will not be reset and you must click on another switch enterprise icon to change to it.

Remember that you can display the statistics of any other enterprise by selecting it in the enterprise list in the left pane of Home view.

And in any view, you can click on your user name to display a menu with options to edit your user details or log out.

Enterprise resource statistics

This screen shows statistics of the resources used by the current or selected enterprise and/or the selected virtual datacenters in all the accessible datacenters. The view will depend on the user's scope and privileges. See Enterprise Statistics and Virtual Datacenter Statistics for more information.
