Sample configuration for testing IPv6

This basic configuration for testing IPv6 in Abiquo is a VM with radvd and dhcpd6. And a VM with dhclient ipv6 enabled.

Router

In our example the router has an IPv6 address of 2001:db8:0:1::1230/64 (eth1).

Radvd configuration

A typical configuration for a eth1 that has an IPv6 address of 2001:db8:0:1::1230/64.

/etc/radvd.conf
# Router advertisment is performed (listen and send) on eth1 interface eth1 { # We are sending advertisments (route) AdvSendAdvert on; # When set, host use the administered (stateful) protocol # for address autoconfiguration. The use of this flag is # described in RFC 4862. DHCPv6 provides IP address AdvManagedFlag on; # When set, host use the administered (stateful) protocol # for address autoconfiguration. For other (non-address) # information. DHCPv6 provides DNS and domain prefix for example. # The use of this flag is described in RFC 4862 AdvOtherConfigFlag on; # Netmask length must be "/64" # (see RFC 2462, sect 5.5.3, page 18) prefix 2001:db8:0:1::/64 { # Says to hosts: # "Everything sharing this prefix is on the # same link as you." AdvOnLink on; # Says to hosts: # Use the address DHCPv6 gave you. AdvAutonomous off; }; # Yet another prefix prefix 2001:db:1:0::/64 { # Says to hosts: # "Everything sharing this prefix is on the # same link as you." AdvOnLink on; # Says to hosts: # "Use the prefix to autoconfigure your address" AdvAutonomous off; }; };

DHCPv6

A DHCPv6 listening in the eth1. A minimal configuration.

/etc/dhcp/dhcpd6.conf
omapi-port 7911; subnet6 2001:db8:0:1::/64 { }
