The Home view dashboard gives you statistics and an overview of dynamic dashboards give you information about the resources you are managing on the platform.

User dashboard

This dashboard is the first screen you will see when you log in to Abiquo. It has Metrics, Hybrid The Abiquo Home view contains dynamic dashboards to give you tables and graphical information about the resources you are managing with the cloud platform. 

By default, the dashboard displays the predefined Metrics, Hybrid, and Optimization tabs. 

  • You can sort tables by columns by clicking on them on the header rows
  • To jump directly to a VM, virtual datacenter or virtual appliance, double-click on its name or label.

Metrics

The Metrics tab provides a general view of the resources currently being used by your virtual datacenters, as well events.

Administrator dashboard

The administrator dashboard has a list of enterprises in the left panel. 

By default the platform displays the Metrics tab only. To enable the Hybrid and Optimization tabs for users, assign the appropriate user privileges.

Display Enterprise resources

In addition to the Enterprise resources by virtual datacenter, the administrator may be able to display a summary of Enterprise resources for all virtual datacenters.

Display the dashboard of another enterprise

To display the dashboard statistics of an enterprise, click on the enterprise in the Enterprise list. The name of the selected enterprise will display above the dashboard panels.

Switch to another enterprise

To switch to another enterprise to administer that enterprise, click the switch enterprise button beside a name in the enterprise list. The name of the enterprise that you are currently using will be displayed beneath your username in the top right-hand corner of the screen. All your actions with virtual datacenters, virtual appliances, VMs and VM templates will apply to the current enterprise until you switch to another enterprise. When you log out and log in again, the platform will not reset the enterprise, unless your environment uses LDAP or OpenID for user management, in which case the platform will reset the enterprise at login.

When you are viewing the dashboard for another enterprise, you can double-click on a virtual datacenter, virtual appliance, or VM to jump straight to it. In this case, the platform will automatically switch you to the enterprise that owns the virtual infrastructure.

The administrator can fully customize the dashboard as required. It is also possible to restore the default dashboard if anything goes wrong in your experiments!

Users can create their own dashboards if they have the privileges to manage dashboards. To create a dashboard, click the + add button to the right of the current dashboards.
