To enable users to more easily select the appropriate hardware profile, Abiquo 5.1 introduces hardware profile families and types. When the user selects a VM template to create a VM, they can filter the hardware profiles by family and type. The platform provides a helpful description of the family and the type. The user can choose to display only hardware profiles of the current generation.
After you upgrade Abiquo, select an account and synchronize hardware profiles for each public cloud region and datacenter to update their families and types. The hardware profile types are locked and synchronized from public cloud regions with hardware profiles, such as AWS and Azure. In datacenters and in vCloud regions, where hardware profiles are optional, the administrator can fully manage hardware profile families and types.

Abiquo 5.1 enables the user to set a bandwidth limit in a virtual datacenter for each Public IP using Quality of Service (QoS traffic shaping) parameters. This feature applies to public IPs in infrastructure and managed by NSX in vCenter and vCenter clusters. It requires a new privilege to Manage bandwidth limit for public IPs.
During an upgrade or when you create a virtual datacenter, the public IP bandwidth limit is disabled. To use QoS, edit the limit to set a value. The platform will apply the value when you deploy or reconfigure a VM to use a public IP.
