  1. Go to Users view

  2. The platform will create the user in the current or selected enterprise. Optionally, create or select another enterprise.

  3. Select Users

  4. Click the + add button and complete the dialog

    1. Enter For General information:

      1. For the Name, enter the user's first name and family name

      2. Select the Role to define the user’s privileges on the platform

      3. Select the Scope to define the user’s access to enterprises, datacenters, and public cloud regions. The default Global scope has access to all resources

      4. For the Username, enter the name the user will log in with, which cannot be changed

      5. For the Password, your administrator can set the requirements at ConfigurationSecurity

      6. The E-mail is required. The platform uses the email for messages, such as password reset. The platform will display a Gravatar icon the user has one for this address

      7. For the Phone number, to receive SMS messages enter your cell phone number

      8. For the Locale, select the user’s country and language

    2. To restrict a user to a set of datacenters (if the user is not an administrator with the No VDC restriction privilege), select the datacenters that the user can access.

    3. Enter the Go to Advanced and enter details:

      1. The platform will add the Public key to your VMs to use with your private key for SSH access in public cloud. See How to work with SSH keys

      2. For Allowed CIDRs, you may enter network addresses from where the user can log in

  5. Click Save
