Info

For Azure partners with a CSP account, a customer can display a billing dashboard without using Azure's compute features in the platform. You can onboard these customers by Tenant or by Subscription.

This document describes how to onboard a subscription. To onboard a complete tenant, see Add customers of Azure reseller for billing only.

To display the dashboard, the customer does not need to create an Application in the provider, and you can enter credentials without the app_id attribute.

Before you begin:

From Azure, obtain the Subscription ID and the Tenant ID

...

To give a customer access to billing features only, for their subscription (including dashboard display, and billing of Office 365):

  1. Edit a standard enterprise, and go to Credentials → Public

  2. For the Access key ID, enter the customer’s subscription details in this format: Subscription##TenantID
For Azure plans, the Subscription ID must be from under

    the

an Azure plan subscription, NOT the main Azure plan Subscription

    ID
  3. In Abiquo, check that the customer enterprise has a reseller enterprise in the same scope hierarchy.

    1. The reseller enterprise must have valid Credentials on the Pricing tab because the platform will validate the customer Subscription and TenantId using the reseller's credentials

To add customer credentials for billing only:

  1. Go to Users and edit the customer enterprise

    1. We recommend that you create a main customer keynode enterprise to bill the non-subscription items and then add subscriptions to standard enterprises below

  2. Go to Credentials Public

  3. Select the appropriate Azure provider

  4. Enter the credentials in the following format

  5. Access key ID:

    Code Block
    Subscription##TenantID
  6. Secret access key: Enter

    .

  7. For the Secret access key, enter any value

  8. Select Only for billing

  9. Click Add account to save the credentials. The platform will not validate the account details until it retrieves billing data from the provider

  10. If you are using Azure plans, go Go to Properties and add the azurecompute-arm_only_bill_subscription property and set the value to true

  11. Click Save

For this customer, the platform will display billing data on the default Hybrid billing dashboard. The customer will not be able to use the compute features of the provider in the platform. Now you can Add the Microsoft products service to manage customer users, Office licenses, and Azure plan subscriptions!

Tip

Troubleshooting:

In Abiquo, check that the customer enterprise has a reseller enterprise in the same scope hierarchy. The reseller enterprise must have valid Credentials on the Pricing tab, because the platform will use the reseller credentials to access the customer’s subscription
