This page describes how to create a user for tenant administrators and cloud administrators

Before you begin:

To create a user:

  1. Go to Users view

  2. If required, select an enterprise to The platform will create the user in the current or selected enterprise. Optionally, select another enterprise.

  3. Select Users

  4. Click the + add button and complete the dialog

    1. Enter General information. 

      1. For the Name, enter the user's first name and family name

      2. Select the Role to define the user’s privileges on the platform

      3. Select the Scope to define the user’s access to enterprises, datacenters, and public cloud regions

      4. For the Username, enter the name the user will log in with, which cannot be changed

      5. For the Password, your administrator can set the requirements at ConfigurationSecurity

      6. The E-mail is required. The platform uses the email for messages, such as password reset. The platform will display a Gravatar icon the user has one for this address

      7. For the Phone number, enter your number if you need wish to receive SMS messages

    2. With the No VDC restriction privilege, you can restrict the user to a set of virtual datacenters

    3. Enter the Advanced details

      1. The platform will add the Public key to your VMs to use with your private key for SSH access

      2. For Allowed CIDRs, you may enter network addresses from where the user can log in

  5. Click Save

The platform will create the user in the current or selected enterprise. If you need to change this, drag and drop the user to the new enterprise.
