Create a dashboard

Administrators can create dashboards for the whole platform (default dashboards), and reseller and enterprise dashboards.

All users with the appropriate privileges can create their own user dashboards.

To create a dashboard tab:The dashboard types in display order are: Default (whole platform), Reseller, Enterprise, and User. Within these types, you can set the display order of individual tabs.

User dashboards display only in the enterprise where the user created them

There are separate privileges to display and manage each type of dashboard.

Privileges: Manage default dashboards, Access enterprise metadata (dashboards), Manage enterprise metadata (dashboards), Access user metadata (dashboards), Manage user metadata (dashboards)

To create a dashboard tab:

  1. Go Home view

  2. At the right of the Dashboard tabs, click the + Addadd button

  3. Enter the dashboard details

    1. The Type is for display and management of the dashboard for Default (all users), the current For the Type, select from Default, Enterprise, or the current User. See Dashboard types User, and Reseller (for reseller enterprises)

    2. For the Lang code, enter the your UI language code (as for the UI, see Abiquo UI client language configuration).  
      You can customize or translate the dashboard labels and save them in a file (with a name in the format displayed) in the lang folder of the UI.

    3. For Dashboard order in type group, set the display order of the dashboard .

  4. Click Save

  5. Add widgets and configure them as required. See Add widgets to a dashboard and Dashboard widgets

  6. After you have finished, click Save dashboard changes

  1. Go to Home view → select a dashboard

  2. Click Add widget

  3. From the Widgets catalog, select a dashboard widget. Configure the widget as required

  5. Repeat for more widgets, then click Save dashboard changes

To restore the predefined Default dashboard with Metrics, Hybrid, and Optimization tabs:

  1. Go to Configuration view → Dashboards

  2. Click the Restore default dashboards button at the bottom of the page

The platform will now display the Metrics, Hybrid, and Optimization tabs only.

Display billing data on the dashboard

By default for cloud users, on the Last bills and Estimated bills widgets, the default text is "No data available".

To enable the display of billing data:

  1. Configure the platform to obtain billing data from the cloud provider or private cloud.
    See Display cloud provider billing data.

  2. Assign the View bills privilege to user roles

Users may have to wait for the platform to obtain billing data from the provider and estimate bills.

To refresh the dashboard, click the Refresh button in the top right corner of the page.
