Introduction

This document describes the basic installations of Abiquo and the subsections describe the components of each configuration.

The main installations of the Abiquo platform are Monolithic and Distributed. A monolithic installation is a single-server configuration used for testing. A distributed installation requires more than one server and is suitable for production environments.

Basic monolithic installation for testing

The scenario shown below is a basic Monolithic InstallMonolithic Install, which is suitable for testing environments only. In a monolithic configuration, the machine that is running the Abiquo Monolithic Server also contains the Abiquo Remote Services.

Multiple datacenters

The diagram below shows a basic scenario of the Abiquo platform with three Abiquo datacenters to highlight that each Abiquo datacenter must have its own Remote Services (including V2V Services) and NFS Repository, which stores the Catalogue (previously Apps library or Appliance library of VM templates).  Each datacenter can have access to a Remote Template Repository, which stores VM templates accessible to all Abiquo datacenters.Image Removed
