Users with the privilege to Access alarms section in virtual machines can edit a virtual machine and open the Alarms tab.
Users with the privilege to Access alerts can also open the Control tab in the Virtual machines page and view the alarms associated with an alert. Create an alarmTo create virtual machine alarms for virtual machine metrics. Note that In Infrastructure view you can create alarms for builtin and custom metrics.

The platform will create the alarm for the metric. If you would like the platform to notify you when an this alarm is triggered, create an Alert for the virtual applianceit in the Control view. You can create multiple alerts that include multiple alarms.

The platform will not warn you that the alarm is used in an alert. However, you can check this on the virtual appliance's Control tabin Control view. After you delete an alarm, you cannot recover it. If you delete the virtual machinea VM, the platform will delete any alarms associated with itits metrics. |
